“The idea for TREEVERB Music Festival developed from an interest in giving back to the Ann Arbor community,” said Mike Martin, President of First Martin Corporation. “We also wanted to find a way to celebrate the 50th anniversary of First Martin”. Looking for ways to elevate Washtenaw County and simply wanting to do something great for the downtown area, Mike began searching for a collaborative team to assist with his vision of destination development within the Ann Arbor area. After receiving some positive feedback from businesses owners within the community, he contacted Tim Marshall, President and CEO of Bank of Ann Arbor. After the bank agreed to participate, Mary Kerr, President and CEO of Destination Ann Arbor, and her organization were recruited to join the team. Mary commented, “The new TREEVERB Music Festival will continue to solidify Ann Arbor as a destination for unbeatable arts and culture. We’re tremendously excited and proud to support this new event, which will further our city’s reputation as a catalyst for creativity in the Midwest and beyond.”
“As a community bank, we are continuously looking for ways to get involved in events that help make this a great place to live, work, and play. When Mike first approached me about putting together a free music festival for the community, we were delighted to help” said Tim. Members of the Bank of Ann Arbor marketing team were assembled to participate in the planning, including Matthew Altruda who coordinates the highly successful Bank of Ann Arbor’s Sonic Lunch summer concert series. Once Destination Ann Arbor became involved, the TREEVERB Musical Festival quickly became a reality. “Selecting a date for this festival was really important to us” added Mike, “we wanted TREEVERB Music Festival to kick-off the Ann Arbor area’s rich tradition of summer cultural events.”
Headlining the TREEVERB Music Festival is Computer Games with Chuck and Emmy and Golden Globe Winner Darren Criss. This performance is the only scheduled North American performance this year. Individually these brothers are incredibly talented, high energy, and Darren has strong ties to the Ann Arbor area, which made this duo the perfect headliner for TREEVERB. Their alt-pop 80’s vibe EP, Lost Boys Life EP!was released in 2017 and is currently available on all major streaming applications.
